Overview

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP): JFCS is currently in search of a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide services for adult patients.

  • Part-Time, flexible schedule.
  • East Valley Healthcare Center (Gilbert/Mesa)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care such as new patient evaluation, well visits, sick visits, physical exams, hospital follow-up appointments, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Provide consultation and clinical leadership duties for all members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Maintain communication with other agencies for the purposes of referral care coordination, hospital discharge planning, health plan correspondence, etc.
  • Maintains oversight of clinic primary care practices and coordinates with Directors and Medical Director to reach contract objectives and maintain compliance.
  • Oversight of the clinic's laboratory standards and CLIA license; serves as Lab Director.
  • Document patient medical histories, symptoms, and care plans as part of the medical record.
  • Detect changes in patient health and modifying treatment plans.
  • Ordering, administering, and analyzing diagnostic tests.
  • Monitoring and operating medical equipment.
  • Administering medicine and other onsite health treatments or serving in oversight capacity for an extender (such as the Nurse or Medical Assistant).
  • Counseling and training patients and their families on how to manage and prevent illness.
  • Be available to participate in the rotating on-call schedule between four clinics.
  • Participate in JFCS meetings, medical staff meetings, and other professional committees as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Medical Director.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • RN licensure in the state employed or a compact party state and board certified by either ANCC or AANP.
  • APN authorization in the state employed to practice in family health by the Board of Nursing Examiners.
  • Prescriptive authorization
  • Experience providing primary care as a family nurse practitioner.
  • Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to fully function in primary care.
  • Knowledge of medical records systems, data management programs, information systems as well as medical records and point of interview technology with electronic medical records programs.
  • Foundational understanding of OSHA, federal and state regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and communications skills
  • Knowledge of disease prevention
