Overview

Homebase Supervisor: The Homebase Supervisor (II) will provide supervision and coaching to the Family Connections Consultant positions in the Homebased Family Connections (FC) program.

 

The Supervisor will also attend in-depth training provided by DCS to learn implementation and practice of the AZ Family Connections program.  This includes online modules and in-person training.

Responsibilities

  • Upon completion of the e-learning and in-person classroom modules, Supervisor II must also complete the following:
    • Two-day coaching curriculum; and
    • Four hours of supervisory practicum following completion of initial training and assignment of initial cases.
  • Individual and group supervision will occur on a weekly basis with each Family Consultant assigned to Supervisor II.
  • Be available to staff during work hours for phone calls/video conference to answer questions and resolve concerns.
  • Work with DCS case managers and supervisors to resolve concerns with clients and staff members.
  • Participate in Homebased leadership meetings and projects as needed.
  • Facilitates and participates in regular staff meetings, JFCS agency meetings as required, and community/client-related meetings as agency representative when appropriate.
  • Assist in providing training for new and ongoing staff members.
  • Performs other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Director.     
  • All staff providing FC services shall participate in the required initial and ongoing trainings to develop family engagement and change-focused intervention skills, and promote professional development.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Working knowledge of child welfare system.
  • Ability to form and maintain strong, trusting, supervisory relationships.
  • Able to facilitate quality individual and group supervision and meetings.
  • Expert in facilitation of the Family Connections program.
  • Familiarity with skill building and psycho-educational work.
  • Knowledge of techniques and approaches to identify the child’s/adult’s/family’s underlying unmet needs and can differentiate needs from services.
  • Coach staff to use a range of skills and techniques to deliver the FC intervention, and these same skills are modeled by the supervisor for staff. Skills are practiced or enhanced during group supervision through demonstrations, role-plays, observations, and other means.
  • Participates in regular staff meetings and trainings as required by JFCS and contractual obligations with the Department of Child Safety.

Qualifications

  • Master of Social Work degree, or a related Master's Degree, with a minimum of one (1) year of human services-related experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working with children and families strongly preferred.
  • Experience with skill-building and psycho-educational work preferred.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card without restriction(s).
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License required.
  • Active / Valid Arizona Auto Insurance with appropriate liability limits.
  • MVR Report that meets JFCS criteria for driving positions. 
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens.
