Medical Assistant (CMA): the MRZ Healthcare Center in Phoenix is seeking a capable and experienced Certified Medical Assistant to work with the site medical staff in addressing matters related to the provision of primary care & psychiatric services to JFCS clients.

Responsibilities

  • Medical Assistants under the direction of the Medical Staff to respond to client concerns about their medications, researches problems that arise, interacts with pharmacies, funding sources and other stakeholders.
  • Assists the RN in obtaining vitals, to include blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, blood draws, labs, and other primary care duties.
  • Medical Assistants provide vaccinations to clients and document in the EMR system patient care information related to vitals, blood pressure, pulse, height weight, blood draw, and other lab results.
  • The Medical Assistant performs routine clerical and administrative tasks necessary to resolve behavioral health and primary care issues, and documents all of their activities in accordance with JFCS policies.
  • The Medical Assistant engages in patient education and support activities.
  • Performs frequent inquiry about the client’s health and wellness needs and assists in coordinating those primary care or other supportive services with appropriate JFCS staff or external parties to ensure the client’s whole health is addressed.
  • Conducts patient screenings (such as PHQ 2/9, SDOH, health risk assessment, etc) as necessary and documents the results of those screenings with the patient medical record.
  • Provides services in a culturally sensitive manner and coordinators for interpreter services as necessary.
  • This position communicates with other staff as necessary to ensure coordination and follow-through for clients needing primary care, behavioral health, and integrated health services.
  • Completes required training to allow for administration of vaccines.
  • Participates in and functions as required in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program.
  • Completes all required trainings.  

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Certification required
  • Experience with labs, drawing blood, performing vaccinations and rendering compassionate patient care.
  • Ability to acquire a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Verifiable HS Diploma or GED
  • Good interpersonal skills and communications skills
