The Program Support Specialist will provide a variety of tasks that are needed to support the Job Development Program Staff with meeting program needs and with assisting the youth in meeting individual goals. These tasks include, but are not limited to, conducting career, academic and living skills assessments, organizing and maintaining files, chart maintenance, data entry and tracking, assisting Youth Development Coordinators with work readiness and living skills workshops, JFCS CARES shop general operations & process, developing and securing internship sites, maintenance of paid internship paperwork, assisting youth in securing needed documentation, benefits and services. The Program Support Specialist will also represent JFCS in the absence of the Education Coordinator or Youth Development Coordinator, in CFT’s, client meetings, IEP’s, Vocational Rehabilitation meetings, etc. as necessary to coordinate care.
Develop partnerships through networking with agencies willing to provide learning through paid work experiences (internships). Facilitate work readiness and job training as needed. Organize and prepare work experience paperwork---including timesheet coordination with payroll dept.
Communicates directly and regularly with other team members, and internship sites, regarding youth needs and progress in order to ensure successful work experience.
Completes client record documentation professionally, on-time, using the Agency’s electronic medical record system and the AZ Job Connection (AJC) system.
Participates in regular staff meetings, JFCS agency meetings as required, and community and client related meetings as a representative of JFCS/JDP when appropriate. Attends all JFCS and Phoenix Workforce Development required trainings. Represents JFCS in meetings as needed.
Participates in required and ongoing program training to increase knowledge of best practices and be in compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.
Completes agency mandated personnel documentation accurately and in a timely manner, i.e., timesheets, mileage forms, supervision and training logs, etc.
Associate’s Degree preferred in a Human Service Field or currently working on Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Psychology.
