Overview

The Clinical Trainer is responsible for training and development of skills and competencies of clinical staff through design and delivery of RBHA and JFCS training curriculum.  Provides technical support to the JFCS training and development program.  Supports the Director of Training & Development in attaining the highest levels of quality and staff performance consistent with JFCS’ policies and training plan, and within AHCCCS/RBHA, Council on Accreditation and JFCS established training standards.  Works with the Director of Training & Development, Executive Leadership and Directors to actively seek input to develop and enrich the content of JFCS’ training and education programs.

Responsibilities

Designs and delivers RBHA and JFCS training programs and curriculum for staff development and administrative policies and requirements. In collaboration with the Director of Training & Development, plans and delivers agency based training program, including coordination with the RBHA and other stakeholders and community partners for specialized training topics.

 

Works collaboratively with JFCS leadership and clinical directors at JFCS sites to identify, trend and plan training that addresses issues and barriers for clinical staff, including clinical, procedural or interpretational assistance (Ad Hoc). Enhances training goals and content through incorporation of real-world scenarios based on feedback from frontline staff.

 

Mentors, trains and provides technical assistance to directors, managers and clinical staff experiencing performance challenges.  Facilitates clinical staff understanding of JFCS policies and procedures and their alignment with best clinical and recovery practices.

 

Collaborates with the Director of Training & Development and RBHA Training Department staff in the implementation of new AHCCCS and RBHA training initiatives, to include integrated care training requirements.

 

Facilitates trainings specific to case management to include:  Advanced High Needs Case Management Facilitation, Transition to Adulthood, Stakeholder Collaboration, Court Partnerships, Levels of Care and Targeted Treatment Goals.

 

Works with the Director of Training & Development to monitor compliance with state regulations for new hire and continuing education, including management of the JFCS online learning management system and reporting process.

 

Performs other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in one of the behavioral health disciplines.
  • Five years’ Behavioral Health/RBHA experience.
  • Experience in training facilitation and curriculum development.
  • Experience within the children’s behavioral health system.
  • Background in trauma-informed care a plus.
  • Prior experience in facilitating RBHA required trainings preferred.
  • Certification as a trainer in ASAM, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), CPI – Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Motivational Interviewing a plus.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
  • Team oriented.
  • Proactive solution-oriented thinker.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
